Student Resources

This page is intended for my crochet students at Sew To Speak, or any beginner level student looking for free beginner to easy level patterns and resources.

So you’ve mastered single crochet and double crochet - what’s next?

Try The Shoppe Cowl. This pattern uses both single and double crochet stitches, along with a new technique - working in back loops only. You’ll work back and forth in rows, alternating between single and double crochet stitches.

Are you looking for a new skill? Meet the Fisherman Beanie. Your go to beanie for cool weather, this project will introduce you to half double crochet, back loops only, and working a slip stitch seam.

Both of the above patterns are also available as free downloadable PDFs on Ravelry. I highly recommend starting a Ravelry account for access to their extensive pattern database and network of other makers. The best part? It’s free!
