January Mittens

A fully covered mitten designed for cold midwestern winters.

I created this design as a sister pattern to my fingerless November Mittens, to provide an option for extra warmth. These mid-winter temperatures can be a bit rough, so these are perfect for those bundle-up kind of days. I chose to use Paton’s Classic Worsted 100% wool once again, because wool is such a superhero fiber. It’s breathable yet warm, and reacts to your own body temperature, allowing you to stay extra warm when needed.

Each January Mitten is worked from the bottom up, by at first working in rows, which will then be folded and seamed to create a cuff. You’ll then continue to build the rest of your mitten by working in the round.

This pattern is available now on both Ravelry and in my Etsy shop, Wool Intentions.
